Discussion

(This afternoon through Monday) Issued at 113 PM CDT TUE OCT 20 2026

This is a great stretch of autumn conditions! Fair weather featuring a clear/mostly clear sky and seasonable temperatures (mild/warm afternoons and cool mornings) continues into next week.

At this time, a majority of GFS/ECMWF ensemble members suggest it's not until early November that we see at least some chance for precipitation.

Aviation

(00Z TAFS) Issued at 602 PM CDT TUE OCT 20 2026

Regional high pressure will maintain VFR conditions with calm to light winds and a few clouds.

Note: Fall seasonal issuance of the KASN Talladega TAF began on 10/18 00Z and will continue through 10/28 18Z. 32/JDavis

Fire Weather

High pressure will maintain rain-free and light wind conditions over the next week. Daytime MinRH values are forecast to be in the upper 20 to lower 30 percent range, with a few locations as low as the low to mid 20s. Overnight RH maxes in the 90 percent range to near 100 percent. Given MinRH values and drying fuels, fire weather concerns will remain medium into the weekend.
