Discussion

KEY MESSAGE 1:Dry with seasonable temperatures through early next week.

The region is expected to remain under the influence of surface high pressure likely through the end of the weekend, and early next week. With high pressure and mostly clear skies over the region through the next week, temperatures look to moderate to more seasonable values in the 60s and 70s for highs each day, and 30s/40s for lows at night.

At this time, no precipitation is expected through at least early next week, and is not looking likely for the remainder of the month.

Aviation

VFR conditions are expected through the TAF period, with north/northeast winds between 5-10 knots. Some gusts of 10-15 knots will be possible at LYH and DAN today during the 18-00 UTC timeframe. With a dry airmass in place, fog formation at night will be difficult except for right along river Valleys. Low level moisture has increased some compared to previous nights across the area; therefore, its possible that LWB may see slightly more river valley fog compared to the previous nights. Have removed it out of the TAFs for LWB at the moment as it does not appear to be impacting the terminal this morning.

EXTENDED OUTLOOK...

VFR conditions likely to continue into the rest of the week as higher pressure provides mostly clear skies and calm weather. Additional rounds of early morning river fog will still be possible for the next few days, especially for KLWB.
