US Ends Temporary Protected Status for Nationals of Burma

2+ hour, 9+ min ago (318+ words) The change gives about 3,000 Burmese nationals until Jan. 26, 2026, to return. Burma "has made notable progress in governance and stability, including the end of its state of emergency, plans for free and fair elections, successful ceasefire agreements, and improved local governance contributing to enhanced public service delivery and national reconciliation," Noem said in a statement. After conferring with other government agencies, Noem determined that conditions in the country no longer meet the protected status requirements. Her decision was based on a U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services review of the conditions in Burma, and after consultation with the State Department, according to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Noem also determined that allowing Burmese citizens to stay temporarily in the United States was contrary to the national interest, DHS stated. They were encouraged to use the CBP Home app to report their departure....

DOJ's Judge Misconduct Claim Over Trans Ban Tossed

10+ hour, 24+ min ago (377+ words) Nate Raymond Monday, 24 November 2025 07:41 PM EST A rare judicial misconduct complaint filed by the U.S. Department of Justice that accused a judge of bias in her handling of a challenge to President Donald Trump's ban on transgender troops has been dismissed. Chief U.S. Circuit Judge Sri Srinivasan in a Sept. 29 decision made public on Monday said judicial misconduct proceedings were the wrong venue to address the Justice Department's concerns about U.S. District Judge Ana Reyes, noting that it could have sought to have her recused instead. "A misconduct proceeding is not meant to function in that way " i.e., as an alternate means by which a party in a pending case could bring about the judge's recusal," Srinivasan wrote. His decision did not identify the judge by name, but it quoted from a complaint the Justice Department had previously made public that it filed against…...

12+ hour, 54+ min ago (169+ words) Is committing identity theft and making the life of a man and his family hell a bad thing? Apparently not, as long as you were also breaking the law by entering the country illegally and working illegally, racking up debts without paying them, and committing other crimes. In fact, once you are caught, the Times will classify you as a victim in need of as much sympathy as the man you have terrorized for a decade. At least, that is the take of the geniuses at The New York Times. The Times profiles the two men in question. The two victims, as they call them. We've all been inundated with the horrors of identity theft, right? So much of our lives in the modern world is tied to our driver's licenses and Social Security numbers that having somebody mess with…...
