Key Messages
Updated at 858 PM CDT Sun Oct 25 2026
- Afternoon RH values will drop into the 25-35% range each of the next several afternoons (mainly in southern middle Tennessee and NW Alabama), creating the need for extra caution regarding outdoor burning. on Monday
- Medium chances of showers and a few storms will return to the forecast late Saturday night into Sunday.
&85 .NEAR TERM... (Rest of tonight and Monday) Issued at 858 PM CDT Sun Oct 25 2026
Tranquil conditions again tonight, with a clear sky and calm winds allowing for good radiational cooling as temperatures have dropped off quickly after sunset. Expect them to eventually bottom out in the mid to upper 40s in most locations by early Monday morning. High pressure will remain the dominant weather feature across the region on Monday, but mid/high clouds from an area of low pressure over the Plains will filter through the region during the day. There should be enough breaks in the clouds to still warm into the low to mid 70s in most locations by the afternoon.
Short Term
(Monday night through Wednesday) Issued at 858 PM CDT Sun Oct 25 2026
High pressure will remain the dominant influence during the early to mid week, but the center of it will flatten and shift east into GA/SC by late Tuesday into Wednesday. This will allow a couple of weak shortwaves to move north and east from the Mid South into the Ohio Valley, clipping our area. With the air mass completely devoid of appreciable moisture, the impact will mean nothing but some cloud cover which will create periods of partly to mostly cloudy conditions. Despite this, sufficient breaks in the clouds and light southerly winds will still allow temperatures to reach the mid to perhaps upper 70s each afternoon.
Long Term
(Wednesday night through Sunday) Issued at 858 PM CDT Sun Oct 25 2026
Another ridge will attempt to build back into the Tennessee Valley late this week, resulting in sunny/dry weather Thursday and Friday and highs climbing to around 80 degrees each day. The ridge will begin to shift east on Saturday, with an area of low pressure developing over Texas and the lower Mississippi Valley Saturday night into Sunday. As it stands right now, Saturday (Halloween) looks to be a warm/dry day with increasing cloud cover -- with potentially some low rain chances returning to the forecast Saturday evening. Medium chances of showers will return to the forecast late Saturday night into Sunday as the low quickly shifts eastward across the Deep South. This will give the Tennessee Valley, it's best shot at appreciable rainfall in a couple weeks. We will need to resolve the timing of the system better, but our greatest confidence appears to be on Sunday for now.
Aviation
(00Z TAFS) Issued at 538 PM CDT Sun Oct 25 2026
VFR conditions will prevail through the period with light winds and a mostly clear sky.
