- Dry through Thursday night and then maybe some small rain chances from Friday into the weekend.

- Much uncertainty on temperatures and rain chances early next week.

Discussion

Issued at 1146 PM CDT Mon Oct 19 2026

Today through Thursday night

An anomalous 500 mb ridge will remain in control of the area's weather through Thursday night. This high will provide dry weather and unseasonably warm temperatures. High temperatures will warm from the mid- and upper 60s today and be in the lower and mid-70s on Thursday. Low temperatures will be in the 30s and 40s tonight and Wednesday night and in the 40s and 50s on Thursday night.

Friday and Friday night

A negatively tilted trough will move through Minnesota and western and northern Wisconsin. There is still plenty of uncertainty on whether there will be enough low-level moisture for any rain to move into our area.

With some more cover, high temperatures will be a bit cooler (mainly in the 60s). Low temperatures will be a bit warmer (upper 40s to mid-50s).

Aviation

Issued at 600 AM CDT Tue Oct 20 2026

Valley fog has developed overnight and is currently impacting ONA/PDC/OVS with issues seen on all side of LSE but seemingly not within 5 nautical miles. In any case, still prudent to carry a TEMPO at LSE given how close the issues are to impacting the terminal. Once the fog dissipates around 14-15z, VFR conditions will return. Fog may develop once again Wednesday morning primarily impacting the Wisconsin River valley and OVS while low level winds may be too strong for this to impact LSE once again so have kept it out of the TAF near the end of the period.
