Discussion

Now through Thursday night, An upper ridge stretching north over the Eastern Conus shifts south to become centered over the Gulf. An upper level shortwave trough off the East Coast shifts south organizing into a closed upper low over the Caribbean, where it remains into the end of the week. The upper ridge over the Gulf builds north over the Southeast the end of the week as a weak upper trough develops off the west coast of the US/Mex. Surface high pressure meanders around over the eastern Conus, and in combination with a surface low developing near southern Fl, a tight pressure gradient develops Wednesday on over the open Gulf.
Subsidence from the upper ridge will help high temperatures to remain above seasonal norms, overriding cooler northeasterly flow over the forecast area. High temperatures in the upper 70s to low 80s expected through mid week. Low temperatures remain around seasonal Tuesday and Wednesday nights, ranging from the upper 40s north of Highway 84 to mid 50s over the I-10 corridor. There is an uptick Thursday night with guidance advertising an uptick in moisture moving over the forecast area Thursday into Thursday night. Low temperatures in the mid 50s to around 60 expected Thursday night.
Friday through the weekend...A shortwave trough moves over the Southeast, bringing rain back to the region for the weekend. Temperatures see a bit of a downward trend, but otherwise remain above seasonal norms.
Taking a look at the Rip Risk on area beaches, a Moderate Risk of rip currents is maintain into the coming week, with some guidance advertising occasional upticks to a low High. /16
