Discussion
Issued at 1108 AM CDT Sun Oct 25 2026
An upper ridge over the eastern states and an upper trof just off the East Coast slowly shift eastward through Wednesday, with the upper ridge weakening somewhat and becoming oriented mainly near/along the East Coast. The upper ridge continues to weaken on Thursday, then a large upper trof well off to the west looks to send a vigorous series of shortwaves downstream which progress across the forecast area Friday night into Saturday. A strong surface ridge prevails over the region through Friday then begins to weaken somewhat Saturday. A dry northeasterly surface flow continues over the area through Thursday, then gradually transitions to a southeasterly flow on Saturday. Have continued with a dry forecast through Friday, then slight chance to chance pops return to the western half of the area on Saturday as deep layer moisture improves late in the week and into the weekend.
Highs on Monday range from the mid 70s to around 80, then upper 70s to lower 80s follow for Tuesday and slowly trend to mostly 80-85 by Saturday. Lows tonight range from around 50 well inland to 55-60 at the coast, then Monday night and Tuesday night will be similar except for a bit cooler well inland. A moderating trend follows through Saturday night by which time lows will range from around 60 well inland to the mid 60s at the coast. A High Risk of rip currents is expected through Monday, with a moderate risk for Tuesday and Wednesday. A High Risk of rip currents is anticipated to return on Thursday. /29
Aviation
(18Z TAFS) Issued at 1108 AM CDT Sun Oct 25 2026
VFR conditions continue through Monday morning. Northeasterly to easterly winds 5-10 knots, a bit stronger near the coast, diminish to around 5 knots or less this evening, then increase to 5-10 knots Monday morning. /29
Marine
Issued at 1108 AM CDT Sun Oct 25 2026
Moderate to strong northeasterly winds prevail through Monday morning, then diminish Monday afternoon. A Small Craft Advisory remains in effect for the open Gulf waters until 1 pm Monday afternoon. The offshore flow begins to strengthen Tuesday night, with a moderate to occasionally strong flow following for Wednesday through Friday. Another Small Craft Advisory will likely become necessary starting early Wednesday morning well offshore and running through Friday, potentially occasionally including the near shore waters. /29
