Key Messages

Updated at 133 AM EDT Mon Oct 26 2026

- Dry weather will continue over the forecast period with cool mornings and mild afternoon highs.

- Low relative humidity values in the 30s to upper 20s are also expected most days but with light winds overall.

Discussion

Issued at 133 AM EDT Mon Oct 26 2026

Currently, ridging is centered just to our west with surface high pressure across the eastern U.S. This pattern will continue subsidence and promote a cool morning today, followed by mild daytime highs in the 70s. Efficient mixing will allow for RH values to drop into the 30s area-wide, but thankfully a weak MSLP gradient will keep winds very light. By Tuesday, the ridge will move over the region, causing height rises and temperatures rising further into the 70s. With even more efficient mixing, lower RH values into the 20s are likely for some. The pattern will be similar again on Wednesday with some suppression of the ridge to our east, leading to a very slight drop in daytime highs. By Thursday, the flow will become more zonal aloft with similarly mild daytime highs expected.

By Friday, a shortwave will eject out of the Rockies with additional ridging expected over our region downstream. Surface high pressure and will keep conditions similar to previous days. For Halloween, the ridge will push off to our east as the shortwave approaches from the west. Depending on moisture advection and evolution of the shortwave, rain chances will return but currently look to be more towards Sunday or later.

Aviation

(06Z TAFS) Issued at 133 AM EDT Mon Oct 26 2026

Surface high pressure and upper level ridging to persist through the TAF term. Thus, VFR, dry, mostly sunny/clear skies, and light winds or calm conditions can be expected. Brief fog also possible at TRI this morning.
