Key Messages
Updated at 132 AM EDT Sun Oct 25 2026
- Dry weather will continue over the forecast period with cool mornings and mild afternoon highs.
- Low relative humidity values in the 30s to upper 20s are also expected most days but with light winds overall.
Discussion
Issued at 132 AM EDT Sun Oct 25 2026
Currently, a strong upper ridge of high pressure is centered to our southwest over the southern Mississippi River Valley with surface high pressure over New England. This will continue to promote subsidence with cool morning lows and mild daytime highs. Efficient mixing will allow RH's to drop into the 30s and upper 20s with weak flow and MSLP gradient keeping winds light. Early in the week, the ridge will progress eastward with surface high pressure shifting almost directly over the area. The height rises will lead to a slight warming trend and continued daytime mixing keeping RH values low.
This same general pattern will continue through the end of the week and into the weekend for Halloween with additional height rises potentially pushing highs closer to 80 degrees for some. Otherwise, low RHs and light winds will keep limited fire weather concerns in the forecast each day, but thankfully only about 10 percent of the area is in drought at this time.
Aviation
(06Z TAFS) Issued at 132 AM EDT Sun Oct 25 2026
Surface high pressure and upper level ridging to persist through the TAF term. Thus, VFR, dry, mostly sunny/clear skies, and light winds or calm conditions can be expected.
