- A wetter pattern may take shape late next week/Halloween weekend.

Forecast Update

Issued at 907 PM EDT Thu Oct 22 2026

Surface analysis this evening shows strong high pressure centered north of the Great Lakes. The large high was extending its influence south, across Indiana to the Tennessee River Valley. GOES19 shows no clouds across Indiana. Aloft water vapor showed strong ridging still in place over the plains states, stretching north into central Canada. Northerly flow was in place aloft with strong subsidence still in place over Indiana. Dew points were still in the middle 40s.

Little overall change is expected overnight and the forecast remains in good shape. The strong high pressure system is not expected to move much, and continued clear and calm weather is expected. Forecast soundings again show a dry column through the night, but dew point depressions are again expected to fall to 0-2F. This will allow for patchy fog to develop outside of Indianapolis Metro. Look for lows in the lower to middle 40s.
