Key Messages
- Another 18 hours of showers, then we dry out.
- Mainly dry this upcoming week, then another potentially active event for later next weekend.
Short Term
Issued at 115 PM MDT Sun Oct 25 2026
With the mid level trough still to our west, lifting northeast, a couple more rounds of showers will be likely across the region the rest of this afternoon into late evening. Some of the showers will produce heavy rain, but should be relatively quick moving. The best chance of showers over the most populated area (Springs/Pueblo) will occur mainly this evening (6 pm-midnight).
The activity should clear the forecast areas and move into KS by Sunrise tomorrow.
Tomorrow should be mostly sunny and dry predominantly dry, The only showers may occur in far SE CO. Max temps tomorrow should be in the mid 60s plains and low 50s valleys.
Long Term
Issued at 115 PM MDT Sun Oct 25 2026
Tuesday through Thursday will be dry. Max temps should be in the U60s/L70s plains with 50s in the valleys.
By Friday, temps will be similar to the days prior, but we will see a chance of showers over the San Juans and possibly the far southeast plains.
For the weekend...Another trough is forecast to move across the Western CONUS. Both the primary deterministic guidance products (EC/GFS) show this trough development, but vary in the intensity and location of the trough. GFS is more gung-ho with a stronger system while EC is farther north and quicker. As it stands now, it appears the mountains along the divide should get precip with this system, and since these systems appear colder, we should see more snow than rain the the mtns. \/Hodanish
