Coastal Flood Advisory issued October 23 at 12:45PM PDT until October 29 at 3:00PM PDT by NWS San Francisco CA

Details

What: Up to 1.9ft of inundation above ground level is possible in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.

Where: Bay Shoreline locations of San Francisco Bay, Monterey Bay and Big Sur Coast.

When: From 8 AM Saturday to 3 PM PDT Thursday.

Impacts: High tides will result in flooding of low-lying infrastructure, isolated road closures, and coastal erosion. Rising tides will bring water and waves farther up the beach than normal, restricting escape from beaches and coastal areas.

Additional details: At the San Francisco tidal gauge, high tide is expected to be 1.1 ft above normal (6.9 ft MLLW) at 10:39 AM Saturday 10/24, 1.4 ft above normal (7.2 ft MLLW) at 11:07 AM Sunday 10/25, 1.7 ft above normal (7.5 ft MLLW) at 11:39 AM Monday 10/26, 1.8 ft above normal (7.6 ft MLLW) at 12:15 PM Tuesday 10/27, 1.9 ft above normal (7.7 ft MLLW) at 12:56 PM Wednesday 10/28, and 1.7 ft above normal (7.5 ft MLLW) at 01:43 PM Thursday 10/29. These predictions include up to 1.0 ft of surge that will enhance the astronomical tide and flooding threat. High tide varies up to 90 minutes earlier or later along the Pacific Coast and through the San Francisco Bay, respectively.

What to do

If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property.
