At 1010 AM PDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Alhambra, moving northeast at 15 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts. There is a small chance for a brief, weak tornado.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations impacted include... Alhambra... San Gabriel... Commerce... Montebello... Monterey Park... Pico Rivera... El Monte... Downey... Temple City... Bell Gardens... and East Los Angeles.

What to do

What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

Where: Western Los Angeles County in southwestern California... Northern Ventura County in southwestern California...

When: Until 1100 AM PDT.

Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rock slides and mud slides possible.

Additional details: - At 910 AM PDT, Doppler radar indicated isolated areas of locally heavy rain due to showers and thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Rock and mud slides possible. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph. There is also a small chance for a brief, weak tornado.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects.
