...Synopsis...
A broad ridging pattern will persist through the work week before troughing off the southern California coast begins to move ashore by Thursday morning. Some differences remain among clusters regarding to the speed of the trough ejection into the plains with some as early Friday. Regardless, rain chances increase Friday and linger into Saturday. The quick moving shortwave will have little moisture to work with and almost all ensemble members keep rainfall amounts around a quarter inch or less. Isolated thunderstorms cannot be ruled out given the unusual warmth and instability.
Other notable features through the period will be strong winds Friday and Saturday, initially out of the south and turning to the west Saturday after a strong cold front passes through Friday night. The most likely range for top wind gusts are 35-45 mph both days, though there is moderate confidence for isolated gusts around 50 mph. Temperatures will remain well above seasonal averages for the next few days, before a more typical northwest upper level flow returns brings high temperatures in the 40s by Sunday/Monday.
Overall, enjoy a few more days of dry weather and 60s to 70s for highs this week as they will become increasingly fleeting in the coming weeks with seasonal normals dropping into the 40s by the end of the month for highs.
