Forecasters' discussion
From the National Weather Service office in ILN, issued 7 hrs ago
What Has Changed
Let the frost advisory expire with temperatures warming.
Key Messages
1) Dry conditions will persist through at least early next week.
Discussion
KEY MESSAGE 1) Blocky pattern will remain in place across North America through the weekend with mid level ridge slowly expanding north northeast. Surface high over the upper Great Lakes will shift eastward. This will keep low level winds with a dry easterly component. Will continue to see very few clouds, with long periods of clear sky. Temperature forecast is near persistence until Sunday when readings will warm a bit.
Blocking will break down early next week with a short wave moving across the region Tuesday into Wednesday. This should lead to a cold frontal passage, although at this stage the front looks like it will be moisture starved.
Aviation
Fog will cause visibility restrictions at KCMH and KLCK at the beginning of the TAF period. Otherwise, VFR with clear skies. North northeast winds will persist and remain below 10 kt. Fog will be possible tonight at KLUK.
OUTLOOK...No significant weather expected.
