Forecasters' discussion

From the National Weather Service office in BGM, issued 3 hrs ago

What Has Changed

Slightly adjusted some of the temperature and dewpoint values for the next couple of days.

Key Messages

1) High pressure will remain over the northeast for the next week with dry conditions, warm afternoon temps, and cool mornings.

Discussion

KEY MESSAGE 1...

High pressure will be in place over the region through the weekend into early next week. The high pressure will weaken a cold front as it attempts to push through the region Thursday into Friday. This should act as a slight cooling trend. With the dry pattern continuing lows should end up slightly below model guidance with highs ending up a bit warmer most days. Another weak cold front looks to push into the region around Tuesday next week. Some ensemble members have a few showers with it. For now, signal too low to mention any shower chances.

Aviation

Some patchy morning fog should burn off at ELM shortly after sunrise. VFR conditions are expected across much of the region through the TAF period with high pressure overhead. Patchy valley fog may develop again tonight, with temporary IFR visby restrictions at ELM.

Outlook...

Thursday through Sunday...Mainly VFR. Morning fog at KELM possible each morning.
