Pence: A Vote Against Trump's Nat'l Emergency Is a Vote Against Border Security

Ahead of a Senate vote on a resolution to block President Trump's declaration of a national emergency at the southern border, Vice President Mike Pence urged Republican lawmakers to stand with the president.

Due to the small Republican majority in the Senate -- 53-47-- it takes only four Republicans to vote in favor of the bill to block the declaration.

The measure was an effort by Trump to steer an extra $3.6 billion to build the border wall. If the move is blocked, Trump could use his first veto since taking office.

Pence, however, told "Fox & Friends'" Pete Hegseth he hopes it doesn't come to that.

He said the crisis at the southern border is "undeniable," despite claims from Democrats that it's "manufactured" by the Trump administration.
